Tutti A Tavola is an Italian expression meaning "everyone to the table!" To disobey would be unthinkable, according to Lonely Planet, and I'm not about to disrespect anyone while I'm eating my way through Italy this September.
I've been reading Lonely Planet's 2010 Italy guide (for free on Google Books! Srsly look through Google Books next time you don't want to spend a bunch of lira on some good reads) and thought I'd share the joy of Italian words here.
Meals I can't wait to order (and devour) in Italy:
Carciofi alla romana Roman artichokes stuffed with mint and garlic
Pappardelle alle cinghiale Ribbon pasta with wild boar sauce
Pasta puttanesca Pasta with spicy tomato sauce
Risotto al Barolo Risotto with high-end Barolo wine
Pizza al taglio Pizza by the slice
And obvi lots of pagnotta (bread) with olive oil & wine will be a daily staple :)
I have a bad feeling that I'm going to have to learn Italian to talk with you after this trip
