Journal entry from a couple months ago ...

About to attempt sleep, though I'm still either jetlagged from Hawaii, or high from smoking with Carolyn two nights ago in Maui. Before I drift off, I need to record some of the awesome highlights of this special San Francisco evening.

I went to an art show with Kallie (high school best friend) and Alex (Kallie's roommate & one of my new lady pals) tonight in San Francisco, with pieces by artists 'Above' and 'Hush,' among others. Held at the Shooting Gallery on Larken, the show had multiple rooms filled with pieces ranging from Warholic print screens, to graffiti street art featuring geishas (my fav pieces there), to pop word art with tried and true messages like 'don't count your chickens before they hatch.' Sounds like a random mix, but it actually all fused together rather well visually. Not surprisingly, the scene was oh-so-hipster, each pair of decorated hands cupping Pabst 40 oz cans. I fit right in with my lumberjack flannel top.

All the eye candy made us hungry, so we went across the street to Thai Stick for a delish meal. Kallie and I topped the night off with a viewing of New Moon at our apartment and some tasty Vanilla Nut Creme tea. The night was better than any I could picture, given I was returning from a beautiful Hawaiian vacay.
